Jason Forrest used to make music under the moniker 'Donna Summer' but now is just Jason Forrest. His music is a combination of many, many styles of music, all edited into a sort of new rock music. His new album “Shamelessly Exciting” is now available everywhere. The "Fantastic War Photographer" video by Joel Thrussell has been named video of the year by Res magazine, and top 5 by Pitchfork. It's been downloaded more than 300,000 times.

Award-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro delivers a unique, richly imagined epic with PAN’S LABYRINTH, a gothic fairytale set against the postwar repression of Franco’s Spain. Harnessing the formal characteristics of classic folklore to a 20th Century landscape, del Toro delivers a timeless tale of good and evil, bravery and sacrifice, love and loss. Looks pretty cool, could be really bad. From the director of Mimic, Hellboy and Blade II. But, I'm tempted to see anything with the word 'Labyrinth' in it. Preview Here. More Photos Here.

Enrique Metinides photographed his first dead body before he was 12. It was as if he had caught a fever, because after that he couldn’t stop. For years while he slept he kept his radio in Mexico City tuned to emergency stations so that he could be awakened by the latest news of disaster. He would often throw on his clothes and rush into the night to see yet another car wreck or fire or murder. An exhibition of this Mexican photographer’s work is at Anton Kern in Chelsea. The picture above, from 1988, was taken during a shootout at a supermarket.

Freak your mind and body with the music of Frenchie record lables Ed Banger and Institubes, of which 90% is pretty hot shit.
The Soup on E! is probably the best show on television. (I don't know why we pay for HBO, they've hit a neverending dry spell...) Soup satisfies any curiosity for American pop culture by condesing the week's reality and talk show's most head imploding clips down to a mere 30 minutes. (22 with Tivo). Watch it and you can spend more time with your kids.
