Kolaches are a traditional Czech pastry, popular in the immigrant communities in Oklahoma and Texas. They also happen to be the best drunkards on-the-go breakfast you'll find in the 9th South and 3rd West area of SLC. Johnny Kolache's has a line out the door ever since they opened last Fall with their egg, sausage, cheese and jalapeño variations. I have a friend who buys the day old kolaches and freezes them for late night emergencies. Gem em' at Johnny Kolache's, 900 S. 248 W., Salt Lake City, UT. Phone: (801) 326-8376

very nice. hey, i can't say it's mind blowing but they care about their business and hopefully will continue to grow. the kolache's are yummy but not the best ingredients so they make for good cheap food sources or late-night tummy fillers ya dig?
i definitely recommend meditrina though for both lunch and dinner! let me know your thoughts.... jw
