I'm going to start posting some of my design work here on occasion. Here are two club flyers I did in the past few weeks. The first is for Dance Is A Feeling with Danny Dance and my old friend Stephen Bam Bam Santoro who have a party coming up on August 1st at W. Lounge. The second is a logo and flyer I created for Joe DiPadova's ONE, a long running party in Scottsdale AZ. Steve Harrington Curates Arkitip

"Curated by Arkitip" is a project designed for Incase, aimed at delivering artistically embellished Apple© products. Original artwork from Los Angeles artist Steven Harrington is featured in the third installment of the Curated by Arkitip series. Influenced by Time-Life Encyclopedias 1965-1972, thrift stores and the 60s pysch sounds of The Moody Blues, his art might be termed 'contextual objectivism'. That is, each piece is created as a tangible object symbiotically defined of a larger context. Get it here, and don't miss the cute video presentation while you're at it.

Pricey Flashy Objects

The Times reports on Zaha Hadid's commissioned work for British private club House & Home which had some people feeling very uncomfortable, even angry (see the comments section of NYtimes article). All the fuss resulted in this statement from the Zaha Hadid architectural team, which I love:

The Peery Hotel recently got a fresh coat of paint and guess what? It wasn't beige! If they can do the same with the inside, maybe they could contend with the Monaco around the corner.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting one of my all time favorite graphic designers while on a recent trip to Los Angeles. Stuart Patterson is responsible for some of the most iconic images in music and fashion from the late 90's and beyond when his work for Wallpaper Magazine and Naked Music catapulted him into the collective conscience. His often imitated work came to define the era of afroglam jet-setting pill-poppers yet his range has grown beyond nude women and retro patterns. Clients as wide ranging as BMW, The Walt Disney Concert Hall, KCRW, Bluefly.com and club massives Avaland and Giant in L.A. have tapped his Colorola Studios electric sensibility to further raise their profile. Phantom vs. Arnage

I've been travelling a bit lately from the east coast (Atlanta) to the west (L.A.), all in the space of a few weeks during which I noticed a few of these spanking hot Rolls Royce Phantoms sleuthing around in metropolitan areas. I think they are dreamy, that is if we lived in an age where gas or money wasn't an issue. It's rival the Bentley Arnage Final gives it a run for the money but Phantom also features suicide doors!
