MIGUEL ALVARADO
Let's Get Dirty :: See Sound :: Trinity :: Seattle

Miguel Alvarado has rapidly become one of Seattle’s most established DJs. Born and raised in Mexico City, Miguel moved to Seattle in 1996 where he began throwing parties with his friends where he would play Acid House for the underground lovers, and remixes of more commercial tracks by producers such as Shep Pettibone. During that time Miguel became a tracker (mod) addict, using Scream Tracker and Impulse Tracker.

In 2004, Miguel began to throw underground parties known as MixNights, which consisted of combining house with world beats flavors. He later hosted a monthly house night at the Mirabeau, followed by a weekly residency at club Element. Miguel has played in various Seattle clubs, including Last Supper Club, Heavens, Chop Suey, See Sound, Trinity, Neumos, Showbox, and The W Hotel Lounge.

Miguel’s early music background is what makes him different from a lot of DJ’s. For Miguel, getting behind the decks is not just about mixing and programming, but it’s a full act. There must be some sort of a live vibe in the set, that brings him closer to the crowd and the music itself. Miguel’s deep appreciation for a wide range of music genre’s (latin jazz, trip hop, rock, etc), makes his electronic dance music range quite diverse as well. From deep melodic textures, to full, complex and some times exotic percussive patterns. For Miguel, playing a DJ set is about creating a story that will stimulate the audience’s imagination, but also push them to have fun, feel liberated and free.

Let’s Get Dirty has been focusing on bringing names that are not that well known to Seattle, with the goal of educating the audience in the sound that Miguel believes in. Recent guests include John Digweed, Steve Lawler, James Lavelle, Djuma Soundsystem, Adam Freeland, M.A.N.D.Y., Jody Wisternoff, Quivver, Steven (Lee-Cabrera), and Loco Dice.

MB
Let's Get Dirty :: See Sound :: W Hotel

Behind the decks MB has spent time circling the globe to share his sound in some of clubland's top destinations - Ibiza, London, Miami and New York. He's performed with world class DJs including BT, Carl Cox, Josh Wink, Satoshie Tomiie, Tall Paul, and Gabriel & Dresden - to name a few.

Most recently, MB's focus has been in the studio with his last collaboration finding it's way in to the record bags of DJ's James Zabiela, Tyler Stadius, Grant Dell, and Jay Tripwire. In 2008 MB helped form "Let's Get Dirty" - a collective of 4 DJ/producers teaming up to form events that share a unique & fresh sound with a sexy and rebellious edge. It quickly caught on and evenings with the "Let's Get Dirty" crew rapidly became known as one of Seattle's top electronic club nights.

With plans for upcoming releases and North American bookings beginning to fill the calendar, you can expect to see more of MB & the LGD crew in 2010 and beyond!
