Summer in Your Step
I made a conscious effort to play different styles of (house) music during our massive Gay Pride weekend. Starting with Saturday's Supersonic Supperclub at Zest which verged on intergalactic. A near perfect rise in energy, shifting from dinner to dancing with people coming out of the woodwork, hungry for whatever we gave them, right down to the deepest, truest acid house and techno. Have to say, I've been surprised by all the transplants to SLC that crave Detroit/Berlin techno... I'm not complaining. I love it all. Red Spectral (Cody Layton) a prodigy of the renegade Provo edm/rave scene, was incredible. Focused and amazing as he always is. > > > Fast forward to Sunday afternoon, where many of the same faces ended up on stage with me at the Utah Pride Festival. 40,000+ people in attendance this year, ...some of which had the stamina to dance for two hours under the glowing sun and proved their love for soulful house music. My hope is that young and old left with a song in their heart and spring (summer?) in their step. Truly great memories. Thanks to everyone who was there!!!
