Oscars 2010

The major winner at last night's Oscars was the stage design by David Rockwell ...With a quarter-moon curtain made of 100,000 Swarovski crystals, three revolving platforms, multiple rotating L.E.D. panels, architecture metal work and mirrors, the set is more complex than ever, according to the show’s producers, Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic. Mr. Rockwell, who also designed the stage last year, was inspired by his childhood in Mexico, as well “the optimism of modernism in L.A. and the heyday of Hollywood,”  [Melena Ryzik/NYTimes] [Video from Contract Magazine]
