Whiskey Street open for Cocktails & Dining on Main
It's amazing what good design can do. Take for example, the newly minted Whiskey Street Bar and Restaurant on 323 S. Main opening this weekend by the guys behind Bourbon House. Once an adorable Italian-French Restaurant, 323 was remodeled in 2012 for an overly bright and delightsome soda bar called CO2. A welcome transition from a condemned storefront space. But the concept ultimately failed, I surmise in part because its vast interior was overly antiseptic and strangely divided by central booth 'pods' in a garish cherry red.
Fast forward to Whiskey Street 2013. From the first step inside you see how good planning, materials and a little confidence in a lead designer like Josh Wheatley of Urban Vintage can make all the difference. Way to go people.
